Talk at 39th St Gallery and Open Studio Party

On June 24, I am leaving for Bangladesh to start “Her Words: Storytelling with Saris,” an exciting sari printmaking and story project with women of my ancestral village who have recently learned to read. The project celebrates their literacy by creating 18-foot long sari prints with words and images and documenting the stories of these women, who live in an island that is disappearing due to climate change.
