Bus Stop Bangladesh Part II
On June 12th, 2013, the second performance of Bus Stop Bangladesh was held. Outside of Mt. Rainier City Hall, commuters poured off the bus, bleary-eyed and tired. Dazzling visions of red, pink, black, and white cloth blew around in the steamy summer air, filling their eyes, while unfamiliar sounds of a bleating goat, village children laughing, and the distant voices of chattering women entered their ears. Monica read written personal accounts by Noor Sehera, Shima, Khuku Rani, and Shahida, while their saris hung from the Mt. Rainier municipal building.
Pictured below are two bus passengers and local residents who interacted with Monica during her performance.
