Monica Jahan Bose will be giving a presentation about Storytelling with Saris as part of a conference on Climate Change organized by Refugees International and others. Monica is part of a panel, Inspiring Action, Finding Solutions, from 12:45 to 2 pm. Details here.

Monica Jahan Bose and a group of other women will be performing “Unwrapped 2” at the Brooklyn Museum as a celebration of women’s history month. This is part of SAWCC’s presentation of SUBLIME. Details here. Monica’s performance will start promptly at 8 pm!

Using saris, water, and fire, “Water” speaks to climate change and the destruction of lives and heritage.

The performance will be 30 minutes long and is part of a series curated by Eames Armstrong in connection with the launch of Incidence, a journal about performance and documentation.

We will be screening an excerpt of the film Her Words: Storytelling with Saris followed by a talk on the climate issues facing Bangladesh and concrete steps to reduce carbon emissions.

This panel discussion is hosted by the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS). It is moderated by Floyd Mori, President and CEO of APAICS.

We will be having a ribbon-cutting for my brand new solar panels, a short film screening, an update on the Storytelling with Saris project, climate change news, and what we each can do to reduce our individual carbon footprint. There will also be information sharing with solar company GreenBrilliance as well as a demonstration of their mobile solar kit.
