Women Leaders in Global Climate Action

A reception, panel, and art showcase

September 13, 2018

5:00pm-9:00pm

111Minna Gallery

San Francisco, CA

Please join the Sierra Club and the Women’s Environment and Development Organization (WEDO) for an evening celebrating the climate action of women leaders at the local, national, and international level.

As an affiliate event with the Global Climate Action Summit, hosted by California Governor Jerry Brown, Women Leaders in Global Climate Action will mainstream the stories and words of those at the forefront and at the front-lines of both climate impacts and climate solutions. With an emphasis on women leaders, both at the local level and in international policy spaces such as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), real, lasting, and community-oriented solutions can be implemented with an eye to collaboration. With women and femmes at the center of climate action, Sierra Club and WEDO know that climate solutions will be just and lead to a safe and healthy environment for all.

The Women Leaders in Global Climate Action reception is centered around a panel of climate leaders. Attendees will be treated to inspiring feminist climate action art displayed throughout the venue. The Reception will be a dynamic space for feminists to gather, mingle, and explore the leadership of women through policy, art, direct activism and more.
