We had a full-house for the panel discussion organized by SAWCC at the Asian American Writer’s Workshop on April 29, 2013. The panel, “Illuminating Contemporary Feminisms in South Asia,” included a presentation by Monica Jahan Bose and Nandita Ahmed on “Storytelling with Saris” and a presentation by Shilpa Pandhe about “Why Loiter?,” a book and project claiming a right for women to access public space in Mumbai. There was some very stimulating discussion. One of the highlights was Nandita’s screening of a short “teaser” for the “Storytelling with Saris” film.
